Mineral Palace opened in March 1993 on Main Street in downtown Deadwood. It is on the location of what was known as the Gem Theatre. The Gem Theatre was not a theatre at all. It was a brothel run by Deadwood legend Al Swearengen.
The Mineral Palace offers a restaurant, hotel and casino. There are slots, video poker, video roulette, blackjack and Three Card Poker spread in the casino.
Mineral Palace offers double deck blackjack, six-deck blackjack, double zero roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em and Three Card Poker. There are two Three Card Poker games, four six-deck blackjack games and one roulette table.
In the six-deck blackjack game, players can double after the split, double anything and split up to four hands. The dealer hits soft 17. The double deck blackjack game has the same rules, except that double down after splitting is not permitted. All games have limits of $5 to $100. Players that enter a game mid-shoe may only bet the minimum.
There is a video roulette machine. This game has limits if $1 to $100. The game accepts a players card. The roulette wheel has two zeros.

The double queen starts at $65 off-peak up to $149 during the summer for weeknights. Weekend nights start around $95 during the offseason and $149 during summer.
Three suite trims are available. The King Suite offers extra room and a refrigerator. The Royal Suite upgrades include in-room jacuzzi, terry cloth robes, refrigerator and fireplace. The VIP Suites are accessible from a private elevator. These suites feature in-room jacuzzi, terry cloth robes, refrigerator and sleeper sofa. Some VIP suites are available with a balcony and fireplace. The suites start around $265 off season and around $389 during the peak season.
The Gem Steakhouse offers a variety of steak, buffalo, chicken, fish, burgers and salads. Steaks are aged a minimum of 21 days. A full bar is offered.
Gem Steakhouse is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast menu is like a café. Most breakfast items are under $10. Lunch includes appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers and some entrees from the dinner menu.
