There are two Gold Dust casinos in Deadwood.  The properties are across the street from each other on Main Street.  One casino is smaller and has the Holiday Inn Express Hotel.  The bigger casino has a restaurant, table games and slots. Both casinos offer a full bar and lounge area.

Gold Dust Table Games

There are seven table games at Gold Dust. Four are six-deck blackjack games. Players may double down before and after splitting. The dealer hits soft 17. The other games are Ultimate Texas Hold’em, double zero roulette and Three Card Poker. The bet limits are $5 to $100 at all tables.

There are two video table games at Gold Dust. One is craps and the other is Big Wheel.  The minimum bet at each is $1. The Gold Dust hotel has video double zero roulette and a Dealers Angel video blackjack machine.

Gold Dust Video Poker

The Gold Dust Hotel’s casino has two different video poker banks.  One bank is a quarter 7/5 Jacks or Better progressive.  It appears 1% goes to the jackpot, making the payout 97.15%.  There is also a $.01/.02/.03/.05 denomination bank.  This game offers Deuces Wild (94.82%), 6/5 Jacks or Better (95%), 6/5 Double Double Bonus (94.65%) and 5/4 Kings or Better Joker Poker (95.46%).

Gold Dust Player’s Club

The Gold Dust player’s club has four levels.  There is Studio, Executive, Presidential and Penthouse. New players receive $5 in free play. Higher tiers offer players birthday cash, better alcohol options and hotel discounts. Active players receive mailers with free play, hotel stays and food comps.


Gold Dust offers players promotions during many days of the week. These include hot seats, cash back on number of points earned and drawings.

The Hotel and Branch House at Gold Dust

The Hotel at Gold Dust is located in a renovated historic building. All rooms are non-smoking. Amenities include a business center, continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free parking and valet. Dog friendly rooms are available for an additional $35 per pet per stay.

The Hotel at Gold Dust has single queen, double queen and king rooms available. Rooms include 39″ LED TV, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, iron/ironing board and hair dryer.

The Branch House is an icehouse that was renovated in 1996. Eight unique rooms are available. A private 15-person conference room is located on the lower level. Rooms include coffee maker, hair dryer and TV.

Holiday Inn Express at Gold Dust

The Holiday Inn Express offers 78 non-smoking rooms.  Twenty-two of those rooms are suites. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, heated indoor pool, hot tub and fitness center. Free parking in the Deadwood parking deck is offered to all hotel guests. Dog friendly rooms are available for an additional $35 per pet per stay.

Rooms include iron/ironing board, hairdryer, coffee maker, TV, work desk and seating. Single king and two queen trims are available. Off season rates start around $70 weekday and $125 weekends for two queens. Summer rates are around $135 weekdays and around $180 weekends. The single king room runs around $10 more per night.

Suites are available with one queen, two queens or one king bed. Suites include a refrigerator and microwave. Other suite upgrades vary by room but may include pullout sleeper sofa, extra sitting area, street views or a two person jacuzzi. Suites start at $75-150 weekday and $130-200 during the off-season. Summer rates begin at $145-215 weekday and $190-255 weekend.


Mavericks is a steakhouse that originally launched in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Located above the the Gold Dust Casino, it is open daily for lunch and dinner. There is a full bar located in it. The menu includes steak, burgers, wings, pasta, seafood and ribs.
